Areas
Niagara Glen Nature Area - This
peaceful retreat on the Niagara
Parkway, 1 kilometre north from
the Whirlpool Golf Course, boasts nature trails, a specalty Christmas
boutique, and a picnic area. Those who stop here and are prepared to do
some hiking down the Gorgeto the shore of the River will be well
revarded.
Miller's Creek Marina - Located
on the beautiful Niagara Parkway between Fort Erie and
Niagara Falls, the Marina is on the Niagara River Recreation Trail
close to Legends on the Niagara Golf Complex and a short drive to the
Falls.
The Niagara River Recreation Trail
- This wonderful recreation trail runs
parallel to the Niagara River
in the Town of Fort Erie to Fort George in the town of
Niagara-on-the-Lake (Lake Erie to Lake Ontario), a distance of
approximately 56 kilometres.
Dufferin Islands Nature Area
Just 1/2 kilometer south of the Falls is Dufferin Islands Nature Area -
a 10 acres of paradise - a quiet, secluded park
containing several small islands connected by small bridges
and footpaths - a delightful recreation area for the nature lovers and
a peaceful retreat for the whole family.
Admission: FREE!
Navy Island - Navy Island is
located on the Niagara River upstream from the Falls (approximately 7
kilometres south). The Island is accessible only by boat and no
facilities are provided, the land being maintained in its natural
state. All visitors to the Island must follow the Regulations.
